I love to paint. Nature’s colors, moods, themes, the ever-changing views of the sky, the magnificence of the ocean, all of this inspires me.

Though I never attended art school, I learned by doing. Through experimenting with oils, acrylics, pencils, crayons, and other media, I learned what works. Attending a drafting class in high school taught me how to achieve the illusion of depth, and some years of working as a graphic artist, emphasized the use of space and composition on a page.

For me the process of creating is largely intuitive, and I paint from imagination. Remembering the expanse of meadows and oceans, the coolness of water in all its forms, capturing the play of shadow and light, and listening to the stillness and calm of nature on a good day, the images blend.

I love sharing my visions with others, and hope to convey a sense of the beauty that is around us. In the end, pictures speak to each of us in a unique way, and it is up to us to interpret what we see.
